The Elite 550 is ideal for basic 4- to 8-cylinder or 1- to 2-rotor engine applications. When installed in combination with the Haltech wiring harness, the possibilities for engine modification and calibration are limitless. The fully programmable system will allow you to get the maximum performance from your engine.

INCLUDES : Elite 550 ECU, Premium universal wire-in harness. Firewall grommet, Haltech molded 6-circuit power fuse box and cover. 2 relays, 4 fuses, and pins for the 4 backup power circuits. Waterproof USB boot, USB programming cable.

NOTE : Haltech's entry-level, single-plug ECU kit. Ideal for basic 4-cylinder or 2-rotor engine applications and basic EFI conversions.

Wiring Overview

Ideal for dedicated race cars, engine swaps, and custom wiring harnesses. The universal harness features a set of ECU connectors on one end and unterminated wires on the other. All wires on the unterminated end are color-coded and clearly labeled. Connect the Haltech ECU to the terminated end and follow the wiring diagram for all engine connections. Load your base map and you're ready to go!

  • Color-coded and labeled wires that match the detailed wiring diagram for a confusion-free building process.
  • The wiring diagram is accompanied by the complete ECU manual and software found on the CD or USB stick supplied with the ECU which should be referred to during the completion of the installation and configuration.

Control unit functions

  • O2 Control - Closed loop with long-term correction - for precise regulation (With optional external wideband CAN O2 control kit).
  • Boost Control - Closed loop with user-definable flexible-axis correction and 6 fully user-definable correction modes - e.g. gear-dependent, speed-dependent engine boost, etc.
  • Flex Fuel Function (Direct Sensor Input) - Adjusts engine boost, fuel and ignition timing based on ethanol content.
  • Low impedance injector control with programmable peak and hold currents.
  • Closed Loop Idle Control - requires 1 or 2 user-defined outputs (BAC type).
  • On-board and PC data logging - Record data from all available channels directly to your PC's hard drive for both tuning and diagnostics.
  • Communication to Haltech dashboards and expansion devices via CAN Bus or OBDII (real-time display of engine data & setting and clearing of diagnostic trouble codes).
  • 2 stage injection for use with rotary engines.
  • The control unit is complete with everything, with no additional cost for the more advanced features.

Advanced adjustment

  • Adjustment table resolution up to 32x16.
  • Unlimited tuning flexibility - Engine tuning via a combination of 3D tables with 3D compensations per cylinder and multiple user-definable corrections.
  • Adjust via a combination of manifold pressure, throttle position, cam position, ethanol content, gear, speed, race time, EGT, damper, ride height or any other channel for maximum flexibility - Dual mapping is a thing of the past.
  • Cylinder Adjustment Correction - 3D.
  • O2 Wideband - Connect up to 3 channels via CAN expansion devices.
  • Thermocouples / EGT (Exhaust Gas Temperature) - Connection of up to 12 channels via external CAN expansion devices.
  • Variable Cam Control - Independent control of up to 2 camshafts - Requires a minimum of 1 input and 1 output per user-defined variable cam.
