The Turbosmart ALV40 (Anti-Lag) is a fresh air bypass anti-lag valve for motorsport applications. With a diameter of 40mm, the actuator housing has been meticulously designed to provide excellent performance. Multiple fittings are supplied for installation.
DESCRIPTION
Thanks to the ALV40 Fresh Air valve, the air entering the turbine is safely diverted into the exhaust manifold, thus ensuring safe turbine operation. This prevents the phenomenon of delayed combustion, which can cause high levels of stress in the engine and even lead to broken connecting rods.
The valve features a sealed dual-chamber design, with the upper port serving as the primary control port. The spring is designed to open under vacuum conditions, allowing air to be bypassed in the exhaust manifold; the lower dual-chamber controls the valve regardless of manifold pressure, while the shaft seal ensures a watertight seal.
