The new eWastegates represent a direct-fit upgrade for all fourth-generation Turbosmart wastegates; they feature the exclusive TurboSmart collar-locking system, variable actuator cap and base, strap-type V-band clamps, liquid cooling, and 1/8″ NPT ports.

Control: With the introduction of the electric motor for eWastegate actuation, boost control reaches a new level. A wide range of calibration strategies can be implemented to better manage pressure and engine protection. This allows the engine to maintain much more precise control over turbo boost strategies.

Adjustability: The fifth-generation eWastegate range has been designed for maximum user adjustability without compromising performance. TurboSmart has designed this unit with almost infinite orientation possibilities for mounting the motor assembly in the engine bay. Therefore, if you need to mount the eWastegate in an opposite orientation to avoid interference with other components, there is always a suitable position. Furthermore, thanks to the absence of internal springs to replace, the eWastegate offers a superior level of control over the valve position.

Upgrades and Maintenance: Thanks to its modular construction, the new range is upgradeable and fully serviceable by TurboSmart, as all components can be removed or upgraded. The components have been tested for over a million cycles to ensure total reliability.

FAQ
Will an eWG fit my existing manifold? Yes. The Turbosmart eWG range is compatible with Gen-V modular product housings; wherever a Gen-V product is installed, the eWG can be bolted on because it uses the same flange mounting and orientation. However, the actuator housing is different, so you need to check that there is sufficient space in the engine bay.
How fast is the eWG range? 72mm per second – Full travel can be reached in 290ms. Very fast.
What spring options does the eWG range have? Only one option: none. The Turbosmart eWG is completely adjustable without the need for springs. It can actuate boost against extreme levels of backpressure without any spring. Nothing to change, ever. It also features a special ‘zero-back-drive’ system to reduce power consumption.
Can I use an eWG instead of my compressed gas (CO2) setup? Yes, certainly – In fact, it is one of the ideal situations for the eWG. You will no longer need the external tank, hoses, or solenoid – you only need the eWG.
What do I need to control it? A FuelTech FT500/FT550/FT550LITE/FT600 PowerFT ECU, an FT Dual Power Driver module, one free input, and two yellow outputs. The FuelTech ECU allows for self-calibration and closed-loop boost control very easily.
Can I rotate the upper housing? Yes. The modular design of the GenV range allows for 360-degree rotation of the actuator housing, for virtually unlimited orientation.
GENERAL FEATURES There are no springs, no hoses, no pressure reference signals, nor any of the limitations associated with them. The "minimum" boost levels linked to base spring pressure or heat issues with hoses are gone. If your manifold priority is adequate, you can set boost anywhere, from zero to maximum, all from your laptop or the ECU touchscreen display.
